This collection had its beginnings in 1926 in Buenos Aires, when a child, son of Italian immigrants, while strolling around the well-known Parque Rivadavia discovered his passion for philately.
This park was (and still is) the meeting place for fans of philately to swap, buy or sell postal Stmaps
This visit to the philatelic fair was very stimulating and our grandfather who got hooked with the idea of following in the footsteps of those collectors.
As this became a set goal in his life, he worked towards it and achieved it. He could count on the support of his father, an amateur philatelist, who encouraged and led him to his first steps in philately.
During his adolescence, father devoted himself to collecting stamps as a hobby. In 1930 he started an interesting collection. And when he became an adult, he could devote many hours to the analysis, study and classification of stamps.
In 1948 his commercial activities enabled him to enrich his collection with valuable stamps and an attractive volume of postal history.
He made many trips to Europa and America, wich enabled him to get in contact with other contemporary collectors, with whom he could do some swap.
His interests covered a wide scope: worldwide classics, topics, oddities, postal history, commemorative covers), old letters, new emissions, and more…
By the 90’s, philately had become his great refuge, which encouraged him to go on investigating and studying.
Thanks to his enthusiasm and devotion, the private collection you will be able to take a virtual tour of is greatly varied and fascinating. Fortunately, he knew well how to pass on his love for philately to the generations that followed him, which has kindled our interest enter this wonderful world.
